FAQ's

Below are some answers we hope you find useful when considering visiting Samnian. If we've not covered your topic please reach out to us here

Where does Samnian come from?

Emily found the word on a website dedicated to old English. Seeking something that captured what she wants to build it seemed to fit: samnian, wk.v: to collect, assemble, bring together, gather. (SAHM-ni-ahn / ˈsam-nɪ-an)

Why women only?

The majority of our events are women only as we believe women have a need to come together collectively to share their stories and connect. â€‹

Are you open all year?

Yes, it's our hope to maintain a calendar of events throughout the year.

What's the logo?

The logo is an abstract representation of standing stones, a women's circle and people gathering.

Is there parking?

Yes, we have free parking for upto 16 vehicles across the yard and field.

What is the space like?

The primary art studio is located in an old sheep shed on an open field. This has been refurbished as a modern creative art space and includes a dedicated kiln room. In addition, for days when the wind isn't too strong, we have a beautiful stretch tent we use for our wider offering such as circle, yoga & sound baths.

As Samnian grows we hope to expand into other out buildings (subject to PP).
