Samnian's story
In 2021 Emily & her husband Matt purchased Higher Botrea Farm with a vision for a combined family home and space they could share with others.
Over the next few years Emily rediscovered her love of creative arts and took a year off to fully immerse herself in studying and connecting with others in the arts.
Emily developed her creative spark as a multi disciplinary artist with a love of ceramic sculpture and a desire to explore women's stories through her work.
The concept of Samnian was born of a desire to create a space where women come to connect with others, reconnect with themselves and explore their wellbeing through creativity. Samnian is about creativity & connection, not perfection.
A core component of Samnian is to give back to the local community in West Penwith. And every booking contributes a percentage to the Samnian fund supporting the provision of fully funded creative workshops in the community.
In addition Emily is committed to supporting the charity wellbeing of women through a percentage of profit.

News
22nd June 2026 -
we've completed the electrical work in the studio including the kiln room. Building work continues to finish the plant room & kitchen. New lights are due to be installed this week and decorating starts next week ready for our soft opening in July.
We're getting ready to test fire the new community kiln - offering firing services to potter, ceramicists, hobbyists in the local area.
We have plans for an open day and are also excited to see our first advert in GeddonPZ this week
