The Samnian Fund has been an integral part of our business plan from day 1.
A way for us to support the wellbeing of our local community through creativity and provide access to creative workshops for those that it may otherwise be out of reach for.
Every booking of our workshops and retreats supports The Samnian Fund.
About The Samnian Fund
Donation
For every booking made we donate a percentage into The Samnian Fund. These funds are held in a secure "pot" in our banking system. The donation made is 2.5% of workshops and 5% of retreat days from the ticket price.
How it Works
The fund is used to purchase materials for the community workshops. Our founder Emily then donates her time & resources to facilitate the workshops and complete any work such as firings.
Where
Community events happen out in the community where possible in spaces that are easily accessible. Where a group does not have access to a space we will facilitate the workshop at Samnian or seek the use of a local resource such as a village hall.
Samnian Fund News
We can only provide community events when we have the resources to do so. We currently have two groups registered and waiting for our first community events and we hope to facilitate these by Autumn 2026.
We also accept donations of materials for The Samnian Fund. If you're an artist / crafter / creative who's having a clear out we are happy to take in materials that we can use in community projects. We also regularly keep an eye on our local CRAP page and recently picked up some BBQ's that will enable us to offer an alternative firing workshop. We recently received a donation of bisque ware from a paint a pot cafe that had closed - this will enable us to offer a number of sessions to local groups.
We will report on The Samnian Fund in January each year.
